Lachlan’s automotive journey began not long after finishing VCE. Traditional schooling just wasn’t for him, so he backed himself and went looking for something hands-on—an apprenticeship as a heavy diesel mechanic with a fleet company. For seven years, he worked hard, learned fast and built the kind of practical skillset that only comes from showing up every day and doing the work.

From there, Lachlan broadened his experience across different truck workshops before making the shift into automotive. He spent time in a Bosch workshop, then pursued specialised diesel training for passenger vehicles—adding another layer to his already strong foundation. Over the years, his capability grew to cover all things automotive, including maintaining high-performance vehicles and race cars—think Lamborghini, Audi, and more. No matter where he was working, Lachlan always chased one thing: growth.

That’s exactly what he found when he joined Rapid Tune Hallam, working under the leadership of Lee Forbes. Over the next two years as Head Mechanic, Lachlan sharpened his leadership, lifted standards, and thrived in a fast-paced, customer-first environment. Then came the question that changed everything—Lachlan asked Lee if he would sell Hallam. Lee saw the potential immediately, and in Lachlan he saw the right person to carry the store forward: a passionate, aspiring leader ready to step up.

That moment opened a whole new chapter. At the end of 2025, Lachlan stepped into Rapid Tune ownership, taking the reins at Hallam and turning years of experience into a business built on quality workmanship, honest service and a team culture customers can trust. With his drive to improve and his genuine love for the trade, Lachlan is leading Rapid Tune Hallam into an exciting future—honouring the strong foundations already in place while raising the bar even higher.
